Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Philosophy

At our core, we all long to feel understood, accepted, and connected. When life becomes overwhelming, relationships feel strained, or old wounds continue to shape the way we see ourselves and others, it can be difficult to know how to move forward alone.

Olivia is passionate about helping people make sense of their experiences, discover the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and reconnect with the parts of themselves they want to strengthen and grow. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, family wounds, questions of identity, or a major life transition, Olivia strives to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself and know you will be met with warmth, curiosity, and compassion.

Working from an attachment-focused lens, Olivia believes many of our struggles make more sense when we understand the relationships and experiences that have shaped us. She views counseling as a collaborative journey where healing happens through connection. While Olivia brings training, perspective, and guidance to the process, she believes her clients are the experts on their own lived experiences.

Clients often describe Olivia as welcoming, genuine, and easy to talk to. She brings a balance of professionalism and personality into the therapy room, helping clients feel comfortable while also encouraging meaningful growth. She enjoys incorporating creativity, practical tools, and experiential exercises into sessions, and takes care to explain not only what may be helpful, but why. Her hope is that clients leave sessions feeling understood, empowered, and optimistic about the changes they are working toward.

Background & Areas of Focus

Olivia enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and couples who are seeking greater authenticity, healing, and connection in their lives and relationships. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals who feel caught between who they have been and who they want to become.

Her areas of interest include anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, family-of-origin wounds, grief, identity exploration, relationship concerns, spiritual or religious struggles, and life transitions. She is also committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Before becoming a counselor, Olivia worked as both a teacher and mentor for young children and college students. Time and again, she found herself drawn to the deeper stories behind people’s struggles. While she loved helping students learn and grow, she often saw emotional challenges that extended far beyond the classroom. Her desire to better understand the “why” behind those struggles ultimately led her to pursue counseling.

Education & Training

Olivia earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology, from Arizona State University and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northern Arizona University. Her additional training includes Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1, Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM), and PTSD Case Conceptualization.

Personal Life

Originally from a small farming community in Upstate New York, Olivia learned early on the value of community, hard work, and meaningful relationships. Today, she continues to find joy in connection, creativity, and adventure. Outside of the counseling office, you can often find her hiking, skiing, camping, reading, crafting, tending to her aquariums, enjoying EDM music, or spending time with her partner and their three cats.

Olivia believes some of life’s most meaningful moments happen when people feel truly connected—to themselves, to others, and to the life they want to create—and she considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they move toward that kind of healing and growth.
