Camryn Marshall, M.A., Clinical Mental Health Counseling

At the heart of my work is a profound respect for the depth of human connection and the strength it takes to navigate challenges in partnership. As a marriage counselor Arizona couples trust, I believe there is always a path toward deeper understanding and connection, whether partners are feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or caught in repeating patterns. Furthermore, in my work, I nurture supportive and honest spaces where my clients can feel seen and heard. Together, we’ll explore what’s creating distance, clarify what each person truly needs, and build new ways of relating.

My Educational Background and Therapeutic Approach as an Arizona Couples Therapist

I’m currently a graduate student in Northern Arizona University’s Master’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, eager to support clients in building deeper, more secure connections. Moreover, my work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment theory-based approach that helps couples move beyond conflict by identifying and addressing their core needs—for safety, reassurance, and closeness.

Additionally, I integrate systems theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed practices, all with the aim of nurturing clarity, growth, and relational healing. My approach to couples counseling emphasizes creating lasting change through evidence-based therapeutic methods. Consequently, this comprehensive approach allows me to address both individual and relational concerns effectively.

Creating a Safe Therapeutic Environment

I strive to create a therapeutic space that is warm, open, and deeply respectful. Specifically, I see clients as resilient and capable of meaningful change. My role isn’t to direct or fix, but rather to walk alongside you—with compassion and curiosity—as we explore what’s keeping you stuck and discover what’s possible.

Therapy, in my view, should be a collaborative and empowering process where both partners feel seen, supported, and valued. Therefore, I focus on building trust and safety in our therapeutic relationship. Communication is often central to relationship healing, which is why I frequently incorporate effective communication strategies to help couples express their needs more clearly.

Specializations and Areas of Focus

Whether you’re facing communication struggles, emotional distance, or deeper relational wounds, I’m here to help you move toward connection. Additionally, my training in trauma-informed practices allows me to work sensitively with couples who have experienced various forms of trauma.

Through our evidence-based therapy model, I help couples understand their negative cycles and develop healthier patterns of interaction. Furthermore, my work with Internal Family Systems provides a unique perspective on how different parts of ourselves show up in relationships.

My Philosophy on Relationship Healing

Every couple has the potential for growth and deeper connection. However, sometimes partners need guidance to break through the barriers that keep them feeling stuck. Through compassionate support and evidence-based interventions, we can work together to create the relationship you both desire.

Moreover, I believe that healing happens in relationship, and therefore, couples therapy provides a powerful opportunity for transformation. My goal is to help you develop the skills and understanding necessary to maintain positive changes long after therapy ends.
